About NMDP

NMDP is the largest and most diverse bone marrow registry in the world. NMDP helps match patients with compatible donors based on HLA markers. NMDP supports research to improve transplant success and expand treatment options, by providing financial assistance, education, and counseling to patients and families.

Why This Matters​

• Every 3-4 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer

• 70% of patients lack a family match and rely on the donor registry.

• African American patients have only a 29% chance of finding a match due to underrepresentation
